The essentials

Privacy at a glance

  1. 01

Torq only asks for information needed to answer enquiries, design products, fulfil orders and operate the website safely.

  2. 02

Consultation-form answers and uploaded artwork are emailed securely to Torq and are not stored in the website database.

  3. 03

Optional Google Analytics runs only after consent and never receives consultation-form contents.

  4. 04

You can contact Torq about your information at info@torqsport.com.

01

Who we are

Torq Technical Clothing Ltd, trading as Torq Racewear, is the controller of personal information covered by this policy. It is registered in England and Wales under company number 08897832.

Registered office: 89 Pilkington Avenue, Sutton Coldfield, England, B72 1LG.

For privacy questions or requests, email info@torqsport.com.

02

Information we collect

The information collected depends on how you use the website and whether you proceed from an enquiry to a quotation or order.

  • Identity and contact details, such as your name, email address, telephone number, team or company.
  • Project and product details, including product interest, intended use, preferred design route, quantities, dates, colours, sponsor information and messages.
  • Sizing and measurement information needed to discuss or make a garment.
  • Artwork and files you choose to upload, including logos, design references and any information contained in those files.
  • Order and commercial records, such as quotations, approvals, invoices, payment status, delivery details and correspondence.
  • Technical and security information needed to protect the service, such as request timing, browser information and limited network data used for rate limiting and abuse prevention.
  • Cookie preference and website-usage information where you consent to optional analytics.

Torq normally receives this information directly from you. A team manager, employer, parent, guardian or other authorised representative may also provide it for you.

No automated decisions

Torq does not use the information submitted through this website to make solely automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you.

04

Consultations and uploads

The consultation form can carry product or template context from the page you visited. It may also accept logo and artwork files. Torq uses this information only to assess and respond to your enquiry, prepare design work and continue the requested customer relationship.

The website validates the submission, checks it for abuse and sends it to Torq by email. Form answers and attachments are held in server memory only for the time needed to process the request; the website does not write them to its database, analytics, source control or browser storage. Torq may then retain the resulting email and related customer records in Google Workspace for the purposes described in this policy.

Please do not upload unnecessary personal information, payment-card details, health information or confidential material that Torq has not asked for. If artwork includes another person's information, make sure you are authorised to provide it.

05

Cookies and analytics

The website stores your analytics preference in your browser. Google Analytics 4 is loaded only if you accept optional analytics. Advertising storage and personalisation remain disabled, and names, contact details, messages and uploaded files are not sent to Google Analytics. See the Cookies page for the current storage details and preference controls.

If you consent, you can withdraw that consent at any time through the cookie preference control. Changing your choice does not affect processing that was lawful before withdrawal.

06

Who we share information with

Torq shares personal information only where necessary for the purposes in this policy. Recipients may include:

  • Amazon Web Services, which hosts the website and provides the email-sending infrastructure used by the consultation form.
  • Google Workspace, which provides Torq's business email and working communications.
  • Google Analytics, only where optional analytics has been accepted.
  • Manufacturing, delivery and professional service providers where they need information to fulfil an order or support Torq.
  • Professional advisers, insurers, regulators, courts or public authorities where disclosure is necessary or legally required.
  • A buyer, investor or successor if Torq reorganises or transfers all or part of its business, subject to appropriate confidentiality protections.

Torq does not sell personal information. Following an external social-media or review link takes you to that provider's service, where its own privacy terms apply.

07

International transfers

Some service providers may process personal information outside the United Kingdom. Where UK data-protection law requires safeguards, Torq relies on an applicable adequacy regulation or contractual and organisational safeguards supplied by the provider. You can ask Torq for more information about the safeguards relevant to your information.

08

How long we keep information

Torq keeps personal information only for as long as it is reasonably needed for the purpose for which it was collected, including customer support, order history, tax and accounting requirements, warranty issues and the establishment or defence of legal claims.

  • Unsuccessful or inactive enquiries are reviewed and removed when they are no longer useful for responding to the enquiry or dealing with a related issue.
  • Customer, design and order records are retained for the customer relationship and any period needed afterwards for legal, accounting, warranty or dispute purposes.
  • Uploaded files sent with an enquiry are not stored by the website; copies received in Torq's mailbox follow the related enquiry or customer-record retention period.
  • The browser preference used for optional analytics lasts for up to 180 days unless you change or clear it sooner.

Retention may be extended where a record is required for an active dispute, legal hold or regulatory request. Information is deleted or anonymised when it is no longer required.

09

How we protect information

Torq uses proportionate technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal information against loss, misuse, unauthorised access and disclosure. These include encrypted web connections, restricted access, server-side validation, rate limiting and avoiding permanent website storage of consultation uploads. No internet service can be guaranteed completely secure, so please use the contact details below if you believe information has been compromised.

10

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances and the lawful basis used, UK data-protection law may give you rights to:

  • ask for access to your personal information and a copy of it
  • ask for inaccurate or incomplete information to be corrected
  • ask for information to be deleted or its use restricted
  • object to processing based on legitimate interests or to direct marketing
  • receive certain information in a portable format
  • withdraw consent at any time where processing relies on consent

Your right to object

You have the right to object to processing based on Torq's legitimate interests. Torq will stop unless there are compelling legitimate grounds to continue or the information is needed for legal claims. Direct marketing will stop when you object.

To exercise a right, email info@torqsport.com. Torq may need to verify your identity and may ask for enough detail to locate the relevant records.

11

Children's information

The website is intended for customers and representatives able to make a business enquiry. Where a product is for a child, a parent, guardian, team manager or other authorised adult should submit the enquiry and provide only the child's measurements and information needed for the garment. Torq does not knowingly use children's information for marketing or profiling.

12

Questions, complaints and changes

Please contact Torq first at info@torqsport.com so the team can try to resolve your concern.

You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office. Guidance and contact options are available at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint.

Torq may update this policy when the website, services or legal requirements change. The current version and effective date will always appear at the top of this page. Material new uses of personal information will be brought to affected people’s attention where required.
